GLENDALE CIVIC ASSOCIATION HISTORY
Soon after its inception in 1938 as a development, the Glendale neighborhood in Ewing Township, NJ founded the
Glendale Civic Association. Over the decades, the neighborhood and the association have welcomed residents who are committed to the beauty of our surroundings, good citizenship and friendliness. Glendale is a unique place where we share in the joy of living in a neighborhood where people take pride in their homes and their community. The Glendale Neighborhood Association hosts events throughout the year where we can meet each other, have fun and add to the enjoyment of living in a friendly, safe and welcoming environment.
HELPING HANDS NETWORK
Do you need an extra pair of hands to help move furniture, prune a shrub, reach a high spot or need help because you're temporarily indisposed to an illness, injury or surgery? Whatever the problem, we will help you if we can. Call any Civic Association board member and he or she will find you neighbors who are willing to lend a helping hand.
WELCOME WAGON
Notice new neighbors on your street? Contact a board member so that we can give them a warm Glendale welcome and an information packet. Heidi Furman runs our Welcome Wagon. Her e-mail is [email protected].
MONTHLY ACTIVITIES
Each month the association sponsors an activity for neighbors to enjoy. Glendale is a neighborhood where we enjoy getting together and having fun.
Regular Association meetings are held on the first Wednesday of Each month at the homes of various members. Check the EVENTS CALENDAR for the next meeting date and location.

Avid readers meet to discuss the literary world on the second Tuesday of each month. Watch the events calendar for the book and the location.
The photo below shows an aerial view of the entire neighborhood. Olden Avenue runs across the top of the photo and intersects with Parkway Avenue at the top left., Parkway Avenue (which was one of the routes taken toward Trenton by Washington and his army after crossing the Delaware) runs diagonally toward the bottom of the photo where it meets Parkside Avenue. The white roof of the Parkside School can be seen at the bottom right. The College of New Jersey is 2 miles to the north and Trenton/Mercer Airport is 2 miles to the northwest. Downtown Trenton is directly to the South. Ewing High School is at the top left of the photo. Someone has jabbed a giant stick pin into my roof.
